David Henry
Liber.ius Partner
A member of the Brussels Bar, and a qualified UK barrister, David specialises in EU, competition and trade law. He has had extensive exposure to the entire gamut of EU antitrust law, including all aspects of the merger control process, competitor collaborations, vertical restrictions, and unilateral conduct and has regularly dealt with the European Commission and national competition authorities. He also regularly advises on, and has significant hands-on operational experience in relation to, international export controls (including dual use), economic sanctions and trade compliance overall. While David has acted for clients in a large variety of industries, his principal focus has been on representing, and providing practical guidance to, major international industrials in high-stakes legal matters.
David has spoken and written extensively on competition law. His latest article is entitled ‘Think green before you apply: EU competition law and climate-change abatement’ (World Competition). He is also a contributing editor of Butterworths Competition Law (vertical restraints chapter). In terms of speaking engagements, he has spoken at various conferences, including “Concurrences” workshops on a number of topics in the field of EU merger control and more recently on “Sustainability, ESG & Competition”.
Before joining Liberius, David was a senior lawyer at a number of international law firms.
