Inge Basteleurs has practiced law for over 25 years, in private practice at Linklaters in Belgium and the UK, and in the (green) biotechnology/ biopharma industry at Bayer Bioscience and UCB in Belgium.

Initially Inge worked in corporate, commercial and finance, as lead lawyer several M&A and corporate transactions totalling over 5.6 bn EUR. Since moving into healthcare and life science, she advises these companies on their legal, compliance, data privacy and IP needs, and has been secretary general and DPO for various listed pharma and medtech companies.

Her experience with multinationals includes negotiations, intellectual property licensing (in and out) and collaborative partnerships worldwide, as well as divestment and acquisition of research activities / business units.

Through her consultancy activities, she is experienced in setting up the legal, compliance and intellectual property departments and handling the implementation of the GDPR for (un)listed companies. She has extensive experience in working in Asia and Middle-East / Africa, as well as with setting up distribution, warehousing and other commercial relations.

She is currently General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for a Belgian privately owned medtech company as well as DPO and Legal Director for a hospital network.

She is also Member of the Audit Committee and of the Board of Directors of The Tropical Institute and Board member of WGC Caleido-De Ridderbuurt.
